Review: Dinner @ Joons Korean Restaurant, Toronto

Joons remains one of my favourite dinner spots in the Yonge & Sheppard area.

Their signature DakGalBee (chicken with veggies) is absolutely delicious.  Although they call it "table top" cooking, it is actually cooked at a corner of the restaurant and then brought to you in a large pan when it's done.  Each order on the menu is the price for 1 order, and you need a minimum of 2 orders per pan.  What I like to do is add on cheese, noodles, rice cake, and extra veggies.  If you don't mind a touch of spiciness, go for the Joons original sauce.  It is a lot better than the Teriyaki sauce, which I find too sweet.

The restaurant does get busy, so try to come a little earlier.  Also, your clothes (and hair) is guaranteed to smell like Korean BBQ afterwards so keep those delicate silk dresses at home and go with casual wear.

Summary
  • The bottom line: delicious DakGalBee.  Really, no need to order anything else.
  • Score: 5/5
  • Address: 4852 Yonge Street (Yonge & Sheppard), Toronto.
